Christmas came early to the red door studio this weekend with a sold out Children’s Christmas Event! With over 40 kids coming through the studio in two days the set and backdrop stood up exceptionally well! Thanks to Fleurish Design Studio for the fantastic Christmas inspired urns that helped transform the studio into a rustic winter setting complete with a variety of antique sleighs and hockey skates. Now its time to complete all of the editing and Christmas Card designing for the orders coming in. I look forward to seeing everyone again the spring for the next red door children’s event.

Christmas is always a busy time of year, this year especially with the use of the indoor studio allows red door to make the most of the holiday season! On November 20 & 21 red door will be celebrating with the Children’s Christmas Portrait Event! Although it may seem a little early with Christmas orders we need to ensure that the photographs and custom designed Christmas Cards are back in time for mailing and gift giving this holiday season. If you can’t make it to the event please email red door to set up a separate holiday portrait session.

Torunn Eileen Knight turned one! Although most children on their first birthday take full advantage of “smashing” their piece of birthday cake, red door PHOTOGRAPHY took this idea one step further and had a “Smash The Cake” session for Torunn’s first Birthday. A few simple props including a cake, rolling bin, mixer beaters, some spoons and one very chocolate cake led to a an interesting and messy experience for this little one! This was so much fun that we hope that this becomes a standard First Birthday Photograph for all red door clients!

Due to popular demand by red door clients this weekend we brought the outdoors indoors to the studio and created a fall setting. The studio was transformed into a fall scene with pumpkins, a corn backdrop, fall leaves and a mini bushel of apples.
I was surprised the most that the kids loved the apples! We realized after the last portrait session just how much the apples were enjoyed from all of the bite marks out of the apples!

Can you tell how cold it was? Red Door Photography took advantage of the close location of the Lock Three Museum on the Welland Canal Parkway to the red door studio, as a different backdrop/photo location for Carrie and Mark’s family photographs. The afternoon turned very cold and the kids took turns running around to try to stay warm!

On a cool but bright Sunday morning the Ferrelli family gathered at the Old Decew House in Thorold for their Christmas Family Portrait! The photographs were a great Christmas gift for extended family and friends and red door designed some custom Christmas Cards to complement the great photos. With a large group including lots of little ones we took lots of breaks in between different shots and took full advantage of the location.

An ideal fall day for a wedding! Red Door Photography was invited to photograph Melissa & Roger’s wedding day in Port Hope at the Port Hope Golf and Country Club, a fantastic and intimate wedding venue! With full access to the historic home, grounds and golf course the locations for photographs were endless! Red Door captured both intimate moments as well as the requested larger more organized family portraits. Congratulations Melissa & Roger!

Step right up to the greatest show on earth! The Circus arrived at the red door photography studio this weekend offering its clients a unique children’s portrait session! The studio was filled with circus inspired colours and photography props including a big top tent, elephant, hula hoops, popcorn and other fun props that the kids loved! We can’t wait for the next themed event, the Children’s Fall Portrait Event October 20. A special thanks to Frost Bakery for the fantastic Circus Themed CupCakes!

What a great way to end a fun year spent photographing Madison! Madison’s parents purchased the children’s growth package that allowed photographs of Madison to be taken every three months! This is a great way to keep a record of her growth and changing personality for her first year. The theme for Madison’s first birthday was farm and farm animals held at Happy Rolph’s petting farm in Niagara On The Lake, red door designed her birthday invitations to complete the theme!
Happy Birthday Madison!

Red Door Photography takes a different approach to family pictures they do not need to be stuffy or perfect! But ideally should reflect the personalities of everyone in the photo especially of the kids! For the Hansen Family Portrait we used Happy Rolph’s as a location to explore and stop along the way for photographs instead of trying to keep the kids in one spot for a period of time! The combination of animals, rocks, water, a playground and a bendy old willow tree allowed us to capture some great moments.
